Lilly will receive a subsidised studio space at Cockpit - worth £2,500* - plus tailored business support in the form of workshops and 1 to 1 coaching, participation in their open studio events, and an insurance package from Clear!
Here's what Lilly had to say:
"I can't believe I have won such a prestigious competition. I'd heard and seen such great things about Cockpit and their fantastically talented community of arists which made it all the more exciting to hear I'd be becoming a part of it!
I'm so grateful to Clear for providing this bursary, I know that having access to Cockpits monitoring program will be invaluable to me as a recent graduate and I can't wait to get down to London and begin my journey as a professional arist."
Lilly works with stained glass to create mythical scenes that are allegories of our chaotic modern lives - Folklore for the 21st century. Her stories and characters are brought to life using intricate sgraffito illustration.
Her journey began at Hereford College of Arts where she fell in love with the art of puppetry, storytelling and character creation.
Lilly then went on to complete her Contemporary Crafts degree, which is where she created her first piece of stained-glass artwork inspired by the Mappa Mundi. This allowed her to align her love of folklore, illustration, storytelling and colour into her stained-glass work.
