Our friends at Ecclesiastical Insurance have generously offered to provide an additional £500 for each of our chosen charities this year, as part of their Closer To You scheme. Their mission is to give £100 million to charity by 2020, and one way they’re doing that is by giving donations directly to charities chosen by a selection of the brokers they collaborate with.
The £500 from Ecclesiastical is of course in addition to the money that CLEAR team members are already hard at work raising (and that CLEAR itself will be match funding!).
We asked our chosen charities how they’d be using our donations, and this is what they told us:
Myton Hospice:
"CLEAR's donation will help ensure that we can keep our services FREE of charge for our patients and their loved ones. It will help us work towards our vision that everyone in Coventry and Warwickshire should live well towards the end of their lives and have the right to a good, natural death, the way they want it to be and with their loved ones supported.”
Helping Hands Community Project:
"Helping Hands are so grateful of the support from CLEAR. The money you raise will go directly into keeping our vision going, and to offer ‘A Hand-Up, Not A Hand-Out’ - giving people practical support for issues including homelessness, addiction, mental health and domestic violence, and offering opportunities to volunteer and to gain qualifications to allow a brighter future by improving people’s self confidence, employability and mental health.”
Homeless Care:
"Money donated by CLEAR will enable our charity to further support homeless people in our community by providing them with vital services at Maidstone Day Centre."
Free Kicks Foundation:
"The funds we receive will be used to provide mascot packages at Peterborough United for local children and young people who, due to difficult circumstances at home, have to be moved into temporary care with wonderful foster families.
We have been working with Cambridgeshire County Council for two years now providing these experiences at Peterborough United, and will also be expanding this relationship during the coming season to include days out at Cambridge United as well.
We witness the benefits these days have regularly and it is a privilege to be in a position where we can help the children settle in their new circumstances. "
Chestnut Tree House:
“Chestnut Tree House cares for around 300 children with life-shortening conditions and their families, which costs over £3.9 million every year. This £500 donation will give 10 children the opportunity to benefit from a swim in the hospice’s hydrotherapy pool.”
The Lullaby Trust:
“The amazing funds raised by CLEAR will help The Lullaby Trust continue to reach more families with our life saving safer sleep advice about how to reduce the risk of sudden infant death, support more bereaved families who turn to us for help and ultimately save the lives of more babies and toddlers.”
Hayleys Heroes:
"The money raised by CLEAR will help us to offer young adults with cancer and their close family and friends, a helping hand when they need it the most and let them know that they are not alone in their fight."
The Grace Dear Trust:
" The money raised by Clear Insurance for our charity will fund additional counselling at schools for pupils with early signs of anxiety and mental health concerns. By enabling schools to provide this early help and support we make a big stride forward in our battle against the spiral that can lead to lifelong mental illness with more serious outcomes as our family itself suffered.’
