The MPW team will continue to be led by Managing Director Andy Webb and his senior management team. A strong team of 30 plus staff will also remain with the business and will work closely with colleagues across CLEAR to drive business growth and opportunities.
MPW is an established chartered commercial broker, which started in 1986. The business boasts a strong commercial capability with a particular strength in construction.
Both CLEAR and MPW Insurance Brokers are long standing members of Brokerbility, the leading group of independent brokers.
Howard Lickens, CEO of Clear Insurance Management said: “MPW is a great fit for CLEAR and will play an integral part towards our strategic goal of achieving £30m in revenue by 2020. The business has real expertise in the construction space, which will enhance our own capability for operating in niche markets. We will continue to actively seek further acquisition opportunities in 2017, being very interested in talking with brokers which match our vision and culture.”
Andy Webb, Managing Director of MPW Insurance Brokers said: “Becoming a significant part of CLEAR is great news for our staff and our clients and will enable us to secure and further develop our business. We have great respect for the Management team at CLEAR and have worked closely with them on various projects and the fact that we are both Chartered and members of Brokerbility evidences a similar culture and ethos. We were keen to team up with an independent organisation and are delighted that our Directors have become shareholders. MPW are very excited by the opportunities, facilities and strength the expanded Group has to offer and are confident their construction specialism will support the exciting growth strategy”.
Paul Hambrook, Head of Insurance Sector at Clydesdale Bank, which supported the deal, commented, "We are delighted to continue to support CLEAR in their acquisition of MPW Insurance Brokers. Since 2014, we have worked with Howard and his team to complete 4 acquisitions and the renewed facilities will allow them to continue to pursue their strategy for growth”.
