Deniz and Ben are included in the new list of nine candidates for the programme, which will be conducted virtually this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The seven-month leadership training programme was established by RSA in 2016 and has trained more than 60 brokers so far. The training course, which is accredited by the Chartered Insurance Institute, aims to train promising individuals from RSA’s key broking partners in areas such as leadership, strategy and business planning, change management and financial management.
During the course, each of the candidates will be partnered with a senior RSA employee who will act as their mentor. To complete the course, the candidates will present their business plans for feedback and support from a panel composed of RSA executives and a sponsor from their own broking firm.
Speaking about the Broker Leader Programme, RSA managing director for commercial lines, Rob Gibbs, said: “We recognised, back when the programme started in 2015, the responsibility we have to help develop future leaders, not only within our own business, but also from our partners.
Bringing through future leaders is essential in ensuring the UK continues to have a world beating, thriving and competitive insurance market. I’m delighted to welcome this year’s cohort on to the programme, which will be delivered virtually for the first time.”
Deniz Djemal, Lead Senior Handler at CLEAR, said of his selection: “I am excited to undertake this new challenge provided by RSA to help progress my leadership skills and gain invaluable experience.
Along with my like-minded cohorts, I am optimistic this programme will provide us with the confidence and ability to advance our developing careers.
There is a long road ahead, following which I am convinced I would have gained the knowledge and understanding as how to be an effective leader.”
Ben Hutson, Senior Account Manager at Luker Rowe, said: “I am grateful to RSA for selecting me to be a part of the Broker Leader Programme as it provides excellent training on the fundamentals of management and guidance from experienced industry leaders. I am looking forward to working with the other candidates and completing the course.”
Everyone at CLEAR is delighted that Deniz and Ben have been selected for the programme, and we all wish them the very best of luck.
